Mainly speed paintings and loose sketches (hence the sketchbook title) done mainly on the train,waiting in lines and even at home.

I’ll try to post some of the daily images i do more often here.

Couldn’t decide with or without outline

We started with the idea or tagline “You are the game” as food for the brainstorm.

After some rough sketches and ideas, the idea of several players becoming their characters around the game table started to mature.

From that idea came the first rough sketch to flesh out the composition in relation to the final poster design, to create an interesting silhouette for the overall composition and for each character.

After the overall shapes i started working in the secondary ones.

Time to start making it all more defined

Linework more or less final.

Then some revisions with João to make some points come across better.

Also fliped the image just to make sure everything was working, and i ended up liking it better, like this.

Setting the values, light sources, and underpainting.

Adding color, painting , defining shapes, shadows and highlights

The final painting, with some color tweaks.

After, i sent it to be applied by the designer to the poster.

And that’s it.
